A’wa is the source of our specialty coffee, but also the inspiration for everything we do.

Born In A'wa

Mount A’wa (阿佤山), located in Yunnan (云南), China, resides in an area renowned for its rugged natural beauty and the fascinating culture of the Wa people, whose customs and traditions have been carefully preserved in villages across the region since time immemorial.

Uniquely Subtle and Balanced

A’wa coffee benefits from high elevation levels, mineral-rich soil and natural springs, producing coffee that is uniquely subtle and balanced. The varietals selected for our drip bags are grown on farms situated between 1,200 metres and 2,050 metres above sea level, wrapped in dense subtropical forests. Only once coffee cherries have reached their peak ripeness are they hand-picked, washed and processed with water from mountain springs.

Celebrating New Origins

While Yunnan’s reputation as the birthplace of tea is well known, the region is increasingly recognised as a “new” and emerging origin for specialty coffee production. This is supported by natural elements but also the skill and dedication of local smallholder communities who are seasoned cultivators of a rich variety of produce.
